Schedules, etc.

Hello Saturday morning!  I love weekends because I feel like I'm so busy all week it's hard to do things for myself.  Let me tell you a little about my life:  I'm a preschool teacher in a university lab school setting, so I not only have 20 children in my class, I also have many, many college students that are education majors working in my classroom also, in the form of volunteers, observers, interns and work study students.  It can be crazy!

I also have a small quilting business that includes a shop on Etsy called (SHOCKER!) QuiltCraft by Amie.  This means I have to make time each week to sew or quilt products for the shop or work on special orders.  I try to do the majority of that a couple of evenings during the week.  For example, Wednesday night is STRICTLY for working.  A couple of times a week, I hire my daughter, who has been helping me with quilting all her life to come over and put a quilt on the longarm for me while I do other things, then I do the quilting.  I think this is the most efficient way since it takes a bit of time, and this way, I'm still productive while she takes care of this for me.

I take care of house responsibilities early in the morning.  I get up early, and while the hubs sleeps in I putter around doing whatever needs to get done.  This includes taking care of my chickens, who I adore.

Somehow I work lesson planning and preparing in there somewhere.

I do all of these things under the close supervision of our Boston Terrier, Sophie.  She has a bed near my sewing area and likes to keep me company while I work. She's very nosy curious about what I'm up to.  I think of her as the quality control department.

I would love to hear how you fit in all the things you like to do into your day or week...
